Kuok Maritime Group’s PaxOcean has revealed an order for up to four offshore construction vessels (OCVs) from an unnamed “renowned European shipowner”.
The Singapore-headquartered shipyard group said the deal with an undisclosed value covers two firm newbuilds for delivery in 2027 and an option for two additional vessels.
The 123-m-long vessels, designed by Norway’s Salt Ship Design, will be fit to work in both conventional and renewable offshore energy markets.
“PaxOcean is confident that these vessels will be instrumental in the energy transition, particularly within the burgeoning offshore wind sector, while also providing essential support for sustainable operations across the conventional and renewable offshore energy markets,” the company said.
Thee ships will be methanol-ready and feature a full-beam hangar for two work-class ROVs, a 1000KWh battery energy storage system, and provisions for future carousel installation and moonpool operations.
